OCTOBER 2025
News
Abbey Showcase Saturday 25th October 11.00am - 3.00pm

The St Albans Cathedral Community Showcase is a lively, fun event with all the local organizations and charities crowded into the cathedral, chatting to members of the public and each other about what they do.

We're really looking forward to being there. It's always a really worthwhile few hours and we'll be gathering support for our Planet Over Profit campaign by getting signatures for our local petition and getting the other groups there to support our open letter.

Planet Over Profit is the campaign asking for a law addressing environmental and human rights issues in UK company supply chains. The new law would stop UK companies from doing things like felling rainforest to grow palm oil, using enslaved people to grow cocoa for chocolate or damaging the ocean environment when fishing.

Your help on our stall, even for an hour, would really help. You'll be fully briefed and will work with other volunteers. You'll have leaflets to share, a rainforest banner for people to colour whilst they chat and a QR code so people can sign the petition - so nothing too hard, we hope!

If you think you could help with that some time between 11 and 3 on 25th October, could you reply to this email?
All help is gratefully appreciated.
SustFest 10 Year Anniversary Event
The SustFest 10 Year Anniversary free event on Saturday 15th Nov 10-6pm at Oaklands Construction Centre, St Albans.

It's going to be a great event so do check out details on the Sustainable St Albans website nearer the time. In the meantime, here, once again, we'll be gathering support for the Planet Over Profit campaign with a stall like that at the Abbey Showcase. Could you help there?
Please support our Planet over Profit Petition
You can really help with the Planet Over Profit campaign right here and now if you sign and share our local petition asking our MPs to support a law addressing environmental and human rights issues in UK company supply chains.

You may have signed already - if not please sign now and share with your local friends and family. Thank you and have a great weekend!
