Christmas greetings without the cardboard

Robin.jpg

If, like me, you're either behind with sending Christmas cards or feel that you'd rather not have trees chopped down in order for you to send Christmas greetings, then take a look at the Friends of the Earth e-cards. There's images to suit all tastes, they're free or for a donation if you wish, and they arrive with your recipient immediately!

It's a Wrap!

Run out of wrapping paper or resent seeing pretty paper used once then binned?

Try wrapping gifts in pages from magazines or even newspaper. Cut strips from the same paper to make attractive bows for that extra special touch.

And once the paper is finished it can go straight in the recycling box where it was destined to go anyway.

Connect with nature this Christmas

KingFisher.jpg

Take a break from buying stuff, eating and screen time and enjoy some time doing something wild with the Herts and Middlesex Trust's 12 Days Wild.

Starting on Xmas Day the challenge is to do something with or for nature for the next 12 days. It could be going for a walk round Heartwood Arboretum to learn more about trees, recycling your Xmas cards or looking out at the stars.
