Help with the St Albans United for Warm Homes Protest Scarf
A big thank you to everyone who has joined in knitting the St Albans United for Warm Home protest scarf so far - both at our group meeting at Jefferson Crafts and with the brilliant Wilderhood Watch craft group.

If you would like to contribute a few inches of knitting then there's still time to do so - we just did plain knitting on 6-8mm needles casting on 30 stitches and using any odds of wool that's not too thick - email stalbansfoe@hotmail.com with any queries.

We'll be getting back together 7.30pm on Monday 13th January to join our knitting together into a scarf and add the UFWH initials at The Greenhouse at 46 London Road. Please join us whatever your craft skill level - everyone is welcome.
The community scarf will be used for a photo stunt to show our MPs why they must ensure the government implements an urgent, ambitious and fair Warm Homes Plan. Then in Spring 2025 UFWH scarves from around the country will be brought together in an attention-grabbing stunt outside Parliament.
Luton Airport Expansion Objection Meeting
Friends of the Earth is opposed to airport expansion due to the huge greenhouse gas emissions caused by flying and the harmful air and noise pollution produced by planes going in and out of airports.

So we're pleased to support St Albans Quieter Skies (STAQS).
They are organising a meeting to discuss Luton Airport at 2pm on Saturday 7 December at Jersey Farm Community Centre, St Brelades Place, AL4 9RG.
The main discussion will be around the plans to expand to 32 million passengers per annum, the current status of the application they've made to enable them to do this and when we might expect to learn the outcome. Harpenden MP Victoria Collin will be guest speaker.
So if you're concerned about noise from flights, the wider impact on the environment and climate change as well as the impact closer to home on our roads, public transport and health then please go along to the meeting and find out how more about the situation and how you can take effective action.
Join a Green Living Workshop
Here's a message from Friends of the Earth member and local eco renovation queen Judith Leary Joyce, about a forthcoming TEDx Salon that she is running.

Do you avoid the news? Do you dread hearing about flooding in Valencia, hurricanes in Florida, forest fires in Australia - if so, you're definitely not alone.

The best way I know to manage my eco worry is to become an Eco Warrior. I need to know I'm living my best Green Life.

The TEDx Salon I am running gives us time to support each other by sharing our ideas and our experiences of Green Living. Join us and together we will activate the Eco Warrior in each of us and plan our next steps towards a Greener Life.
