St. Albans District's Top Priorities for the local election

It's official - St Albans voters top priorities for the forthcoming local elections is for the council to plant more trees and improve local parks and green spaces.

 

But you also want:

  • improvements to public transport and less air pollution

  • to protect greenspaces from harmful developments

  • help protect our community from the now inevitable extreme weather like excessive heat and flodding

  • help to lower energy bills and give people warmer homes

So please answer the door to canvassers and ask them what their policies are in these areas - let us know if you receive any promises!

Come and See the People's Emergency Briefing and Join the Discussion

The People’s Emergency Briefing film is based on the National Emergency Briefing in Westminster (featured by ITV, Channel 4 and The Times) with appearances from Chris Packham, Deborah Meaden, and a range of voices from across the UK. It brings together experts giving the latest evidence on climate change and how it affects us all, but is also an empowering call to action.

After the film there will be a short open discussion about what it means for our community and what we can do locally.

Daisy Cooper MP will be joining the meeting for this important discussion about our future.

When - 19th April 6pm

Where - St Albans Cathedral

Tickets are limited so please book in advance. They cost £3. However, there is a concessions rate of £0 which you are able to use.

Come along with a friend, neighbour or family member; everyone is welcome.
