St Albans Friends of the Earth AGM 2022

AGM.png

It's nearly the start of a new campaigning year

The recent extreme weather has really brought home to many of us the stark reality of climate change and there has never been a better time to turn that eco anxiety into effective action.

On Monday 12th September at 7.00pm we'll be getting together for our AGM at:

Highfield Park Visitor Centre

Hill End Lane

St Albans

AL4 0RA

We'll be keeping formal business to a few minutes so that we've got lots of time to hear about Friends of the Earth's brand new campaign, and to get the ball rolling on actions you'd like to see locally.

We'll hear from Esther Lutz Davies from Friends of the Earth HQ about the Heating and Homes campaign which is being launched on that day and what we can do to help.

With thousands of people worrying about energy bills and going cold this winter and the ongoing climate crisis, this campaign is targeted at tackling both of these crucial issues.

Find out about the campaign and how you can be part of it.

Also, bring along your ideas for changes that you'd like to see in the District that might form a campaign for the coming year, and we'll get the ball rolling to turn your ideas into action.

This meeting will form our AGM for this year but we'll keep the formal business to a few minutes.

If you're interested in joining the group that runs St Albans Friends of the Earth then please email stalbansfoe@hotmail.com or click the yellow buttons to reserve your place. We'd particularly welcome someone to take on the organization of a meeting or event, to help with our social media or to help with news letters. Any time you can give - even an hour a week - would be fantastic.

Whether you're a long time campaigner, would like to do something more to help the planet  or are just keen to find out more, come along to the meeting at 7.00pm on Monday 12th September.

We look forward to seeing you there.
