MAY 2020

News

All of us at St. Albans Friends of the Earth hope that you are well, and that you are coping in these difficult times.

You may not have space in your life at the moment for full on environmental campaigning, so we've put together a few things that you may find help you feel a little more positive and engaged. And, if you've got kids at home, the activities are great for kids too.

But first, it would be great to get together online to say hi and share some ideas. Please take a moment to fill in this quick poll to say what would be best for you, or send your feedback or ideas to stalbansfoe@hotmail.com

Charity Quiz Night in aid of Earthworks - 1st June

Quiz Night.png

Friends of the Earth are hosting a charity quiz night on Monday 1st June at 8.00pm, in aid of our favourite local charity - Earthworks. Earthworks supports people with learning disabilities - known as Earthworkers – to cultivate and manage 3.5 acres of beautiful eco-gardens in St Albans. They cultivate fruit, vegetables and ornamental plants using organic principles, and build wildlife habitats. By providing purposeful activity, Earthworks helps Earthworkers to develop skills, build confidence and boost health and well-being. Earthworks champions social inclusion and sustainability, two principles dear to Friends of the Earth. And 2020 is their 25th anniversary!

The quiz is free, but donations are very welcome and all money collected will go to Earthworks. Tickets are available at:

The event will be hosted on Zoom and an email will be sent out to all participants closer to the time.

Please join us for a fun, environmentally themed evening for the benefit of a really deserving charity. I also believe there will be a quiz round on gardening and cultivation, written by Earthworks. Hope to see you there.
